Visit Hattiesburg Poster Series

This project was completed in 2022 for a Graphic Communications Class. The assignment was to create a poster series and t-shirt that advertised the city of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. I chose families with young children as my audience because I felt the youthful generation could bring more life into Hattiesburg and it would give me an opportunity to highlight areas of the city that don’t get as much attention as the college bars or restaurants. For each poster, I chose to focus on the Hattiesburg Zoo, the Pocket Museum, and the Hattiesburg Library indifidually.

I had a lot of fun with this project. This was one of the first projects that I utilized my illustrations skills to the full extent. I did a lot of research into travel posters and the style in which they are typically illustrated and quickly came to the conclusion that I wanted to be more playful with it. I felt that a storybook style would fit my audience much better, so I looked at different illustration styles until I found one I liked and felt blended with my own.
