Liska a Zeriav: Packaging
This project was completed in 2023 for a Graphic Communications Class. Our assignment was to pick a country and design restaurant packaging based around that country. I chose Slovakia, first and foremost because I had already done a project based around a Slovak tradition earlier in the year and fell in love with the culture. Secondly, I had a great-grandmother from Slovakia, so it felt a little more personal to me.
I did a lot of research on traditions, patterns, customs, colors, and food from the country. One thing I honed in on was the patterns from traditional Slovak dress. These were so beautiful to me and reflected the country well. I also found that Slovak food is mostly soups, bread, and dumplings, typically made with various meat and cheeses (yum!). So I adapted my packaging die lines to reflect that. This was a fun challenge for me and it is always a joy to see designs come to life.
